 So, What’s New?


  • ServiceNow integration now supports Security Protocol TLS 1.2 and duplicate labels in forms.
  • BMC Remedyforce integration now supports integrating with a Sandbox instance.
  • Salesforce integration also now supports integrating with a Sandbox instance.
  • New integration with HyperV, including 18 activities.

Activities now support:

  • Reading a specific Excel sheet
  • Single and multi SSH commands (setting a certificate within activity settings and selecting an authentication method)
  • Start SSH session
  • Using headers, certificates and redirecting to another page using credentials (URL check)

Users can also now hide any activity’s result from the Active Logs and database by adding [hide] to any of the fields in the activity.

Ayehu Announces Release of eyeShare 4.8, Including Integration with McAfee ESM, Amazon Web Services, and JIRA Service Desk

The release of eyeShare 4.8 includes several new and improved features, including integration with Intel McAfee ESM. Using this integration, McAfee ESM users can automatically review and verify alerts, as well as execute appropriate remediating actions as needed. With this latest version of eyeShare, organizations working with Intel McAfee can respond faster to alerts raised by their SIEM, improve collaboration between departments and ensure that any information related to alerts is documented and available across all systems. eyeShare 4.8 also includes integration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), which supports adding out-of-the-box activities when working on AWS instances, images, snapshots, and other resources. A recent survey of AWS users revealed that the biggest challenge with this environment was a lack of automation. With the new eyeShare version, organizations using AWS as their virtualization infrastructure can streamline the time IT spends in the AWS environment, thereby improving efficiency.

The third noteworthy feature of the newest version of eyeShare is the added integration with JIRA Service Desk. JIRA is very popular with IT organizations, particularly in terms of development, testing and managing tickets in the Help Desk area. With this integration, JIRA Service Desk users can now integrate these functions seamlessly with eyeShare, creating a closed-loop process.

In their critical roles as Sr. Solutions Architect (Alex) and Sr. Systems Engineer (Ben), the two men were running into similar issues using ServiceNow and Orion. Each of them found the process of incident management cumbersome and time consuming. They recognized that they needed an additional solution that would streamline the process for themselves and their teams, making operations much more efficient and reducing incident response time.

They chose Ayehu after researching and finding that the eyeShare product was recommended by SolarWinds. In October last year, the pair officially led the implementation of eyeShare, after testing the product for the previous six months with great results. They began by automating incident creation, including volume, CPU/RAM, and application specific needs.  Then, they moved on to automated volume and disk growth. The results of this, and the success in tying their existing systems together, were just what the duo were looking for.

“Having direct access to ServiceNow and Orion has made integration between the two systems possible within an hour or two,” commented Yaney. “Automating disk growth was the next big win. Even though this process is complicated, we were able to create a dynamic way to grow server drives while still communicating the details within our ITSM with updates and even feedback from a customer if more information is needed.”

Ayehu Names Ilan Cohen of Israel Direct Insurance as its Most Recent IT Process Automation Super Hero of the Month

In his role as Project Manager for one of the most progressive public health associations in the world, Alon handles a wide variety of important tasks on a daily basis which are related to multiple systems. Many of these tasks were weighing him and his team down, causing them to waste valuable time and resources and reducing their overall operational efficiency. They were relying heavily on VB scripts and had to manually handle monitoring systems which sometimes sent false alarms and didn’t clearly indicate the cause of the problem. Alon realized that there had to be a better, more efficient solution.

In 2011, Clalit implemented the eyeShare product. They started out by automating services monitoring and restarts as well as monitoring different criteria and performance of the servers. Over time, this automation has expanded to include MSMQ, process execution, copying log files from hundreds of servers, monitoring files, and checking and monitoring data stage interfaces for the organizational SAP systems. They’ve even automated the daily digital signature maintenance for doctors in 1200 clinics as well as distribution of x-ray system files to some 900 clinic servers on a daily basis, saving a tremendous amount of time and resources.

In addition to streamlining operations by automating manual tasks, Clalit has also leveraged eyeShare to improve the accuracy and clarity of alerts. eyeShare helps filter false alerts from the monitoring systems. What’s more, when an alert is triggered, eyeShare checks for the root cause of the alert and sends notifications with the exact error. If the problem is resolved it sends a recovery notification as well. This has vastly improved the accuracy and efficiency of Alon’s team and others within the organization.
